He could have raped or killed me, but God had a different plan!
Two years ago, I thought I was going to die. When he pointed the gun to my face, I felt as though I had a chance, but when he pointed the gun to my back, I just knew I was going to die.
I was robbed single handed at gunpoint. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a situation where your life was literally threatened. Have you’ve ever had a moment when death was just a second away? It’s true, your very life flash before you. In that moment, every problem or negative situation becomes instantly null and void. Your very life, the air that you breathe, your future or purpose is at its most vulnerable state. Life itself becomes your only concern and you appreciate life with every fiber of your being. He made me lay on the floor facedown, while threatening to shoot me. His gun empowered him and yet it humbled me. Sometimes, I still can’t believe it happened to me. The ironic thing is that day July 27, 2006 has ultimately empowered me. I looked death in the face and it scared me not. How awesome is the God I serve to give me victory! So whatever obstacles that may come my way, I chuckle because I know I am victorious!
Every time I hear someone was robbed at gunpoint and either shot or killed….my heart goes out to the victim because I realize it could have been me, but the blood of Jesus saved me. I am eternally and truly grateful. I am a living testimony of what God will do if you live every moment of your life trusting Him. He will protect you when you least expect your enemy to attack. He will send angels on your behalf to fight your battles. By the grace of God, I am here! Now, I live each day as if it is my last, because it just might be. So, if I love someone, I tell them, if I have a song to sing, I sing it. I throw caution to the wind and live a life of gratitude. I will not take my precious moments for granted.
As a friend I say to you:
1) Be careful of the words you speak because your words frame your world.
2) Eliminate drama from your life. Your time is too valuable to be wasted.
3) Stop procrastinating! Live with urgency. Tomorrow is not promised.
4) Love deeply, passionately and without boundaries.
5) Forgive! Let it go…it frees you.
6) Trust God.
7) Appreciate those people God has placed in your life.
8) Give.
9) Live each day as if it is your last.
I am alive Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God has a good and beautiful plan for my life and He does for you too. I am truly grateful. As I mother say, I will live while I am on top of the dirt and the dirt is not on top of me.
Love ya,
Latrina
